On Saturday 23rd November 1985, Midland Red (West) Limited replaced all Worcester City Local bus services (using “Wâ€-prefix route numbers, first introduced in 1928) with a new Worcester Citibus network of services operated with high-frequency Mercedes-Benz L608D minibuses. On the same date there are a number of significant service changes throughout the operating area.
- Worcester Local Service W26 is withdrawn and replaced by new Worcester Citibus Service 26 and Service 27, running between Worcester City Centre (Angel Place) and Henwick Park (Monarch Drive). Service 26 operates throughout the day via Comer Road and Comer Gardens, while Service 27 operates via Henwick Road during the evenings and all day on Sunday.

- New Worcester Citibus Service 27 is introduced, running every 20-minutes between Worcester City Centre (The Cross), London Road, Camp Hill Road and Battenhall (Battenhall Rise), on Mondays to Saturdays. [service-27] does not operate on Sundays.

On Saturday 31st October 1987, Midland Red West Limited extend their Worcester Citibus network to include Droitwich Spa, and introduce service revisions on most existing Worcester Citibus routes and certain Country and “Midland Express†routes in Worcester, Droitwich Spa, and Malvern areas.
- Worcester Citibus Service 27 is re-routed to run via Wylds Lane and Sebright Avenue towards Battenhall, and via Sebright Avenue, Wylds Lane, Midland Road and Shrub Hill towards the City Centre.
- Worcester Citibus Service 27 now operates one return journey every hour (previously every 20-minutes), and most journeys are supported by funding from Hereford & Worcester County Council.

- Worcester “Citibus†Service 27 is rerouted in both directions to run via Albert Road, Victoria Road, London Road and Camp Hill Road, between Wylds Lane and Battenhall. Sebright Avenue is no longer served.

- Service 27 is re-routed to run direct along Wylds Lane and no longer serves Albert Road and Victoria Avenue.
- Service 27 journeys that run direct via London Road are re-numbered to become new Service 27A.
- New combined Service 27 and Service 27A timetable.

On Sunday 18th April 2004, First Midland Red Buses Limited introduced a large number of changes to their bus services in Worcestershire. These are a result of both efficiencies introduced by the company and by changes to Worcestershire County Council subsidy strategy.
- Worcestershire County Council contract to operate local Worcester City Service 27 and Service 27A is cancelled and these journeys are withdrawn by First Midland Red Buses Limited. A replacement service is offered, operated by ??
