66694 motorway accident

Post by AdamH » 09:31 Thursday 27th October 2016

Despite having X50 branding it was used on a 144 and broke down in Birmingham with a split coolant hose. While being recovered on tow with an outside contractor it was involved in an accident, or the tow truck was, and in the shunt 66693 received damage to the front inc a smashed windscreen.

I'm told it made the news but I haven't seen it.

CORRECTION...

It was 66694 on the motorway. 66693 was in a totally unrelated accident!!

Bit of a chain reaction there!
No wonder they never used to send those to Birmingham

Looks like the smashed up tow truck was being recovered by another tow truck while still connected to the bus. Is That what the truckers call a Big Toe?

We didn't get 66694 back at Worcester until about 21:30 so it took them a while to sort things out.
