Midland Red Heritage Bus

Post by AdamH » 14:02 Friday 17th July 2026

In 2019, an ADL Enviro200MMC at Banbury depot was repainted into Midland Red Heritage livery to celebrate 100-years of that depot opening. (Fleet number 37401).

I'm sorry to report that after 7-years, this vehicle has now entered the paint shop and will loose the Midland Red livery.

Shame, I think this will leave Arriva Tamworth as the only place with a Midland Red liveried bus?

A great deal of time has elapsed since the last bus ran in service around the Midlands in the original bright red livery, such that it is only the older generation who can remember those days. Much as I enjoyed seeing and travelling on heritage buses in the last ten years or so, I guess all good things must come to an end. But what will appeal to the teenage bus enthusiast and regular bus users today as a 'heritage' marketing idea?
