Then there were 12

Post by Reddibus » 20:42 Wednesday 8th July 2026

44625 arrived back this week sporting a new coat of the Firstbus Ultraviolet paint work. This makes 12 vehicles of the current fleet painted thus far
The others are:
44570 and 44608 in May 2026
44595 in April 2026
44590 in March 2026
44598 and 44637 in February 2026
44639 in December 2025
44594 in August 2025
44602 in July 2025
44613 in June 2025
44607 in May 2025
Whether they really count Streetlites 47609, 47610 and 47611 were the first vehicles to operate in May 2024 from Worcester in the new livery though they never acquired the full logos before they departed for South Wales. The 3 had only been painted as they had been painted in Bee Network yellow for use in Manchester and when new vehicles arrived and they moved on they had to be repainted

Is it just coincidence that no double decker buses have been repainted yet ?? ;)

As Worcester garage allegedly only has one bodyshop man nowadays, I wonder if single deckers are taking priority as each probably takes half the time, or less, to prepare compared with the double-deckers. If so it would mean more buses per annum actually being repainted and targets achieved.

On the other hand, would double-deckers be the first to be replaced by electric powered Chinese Yutongs if Worcester ever gets any and finally catches up with Bristol and other areas for clean power, or will WR receive second-hand cascades again when another area goes electric? Time will tell!

I would expect some deckers to be painted during the school holidays, when there is less work for them.
