Another bus fire.

On Worcester News this afternoon is a report and photos of a Diamond bus that was in service, and wrecked by fire.
Presumably it was on the 303.

(Also, I've just noticed on the wmbusphotos forum, that Diamond have to attend a public enquiry on November 30th.)

Looks like one of their Plaxton Centro bodied vehicles.

Reports say the driver tried to put out the fire and suffered smoke inhalation... Silly bugger. The only steps taken when a bus is on fire should be away from said bus!

It was on Monday afternoon involving Plaxton Centro MAN 30803 - BU08DBO apparently it was on a 2L to Ludlow.

The attached link to The Kidderminster Shuttle website seems to indicate that the bus was a complete write-off.

It was seen being towed in by a mate from work. He said it was more or less just the chassis left with only a small amount of the body frame attached.

I see Redditch firefighters were called out at around 6.30 this morning to a bus fire. The report didn't actually say that it was a Diamond bus........

I see the bus was in Tanhouse Lane, Redditch and that the fire in the engine was 'out on arrival' so probably no great harm done.
