This is a wonderful photo of a new "S25" during an era when there seemed to be so much going on ! - - these 100 Fords marked a radical change for BMMO, in that they were "cheap", and featured a front engine. - - When I was "a nipper" I was disappointed seeing that these new buses had only "thin, non-glossy" top-coat of paint !! Did the Plaxton Derwent bodies have wooden frames (or am I even more "ga-ga" than I thought ?) - - They were intended for mainly rural or lightly-loaded routes, and were the first post-war Midland Red buses to feature an off-white waistband ( - although some coaches had this feature, previously).
