Worcester Citibus Network LaunchedShow All

On Saturday 23^rd November 1985, Midland Red (West) Limited replaced all Worcester City Local bus services (using “W”-prefix route numbers, first introduced in 1928) with a new Worcester Citibus network of services operated with high-frequency Mercedes-Benz L608D minibuses. On the same date there are a number of significant service changes throughout the operating area.

• “Midland Express” Service X5 (Birmingham and Redditch New Town) is extended to and from Redditch District Hospital, with journey times slightly adjusted.

Redditch “ReddiLink” Network LaunchedShow All

On Saturday 19^th April 1986, Midland Red (West) Limited replaced all local Redditch Town services (using “R”-prefix route numbers) with a new Redditch “ReddiLink” network of services operated with high-frequency Mercedes-Benz L608D minibuses.

• “Midland Express” Service X5 journeys from Birmingham to Redditch New Town are renumbered to new Service X7. Journeys towards Birmingham continue to operate as Service X5.
