Despite the recent repaint ('Do not mechanically wash this bus' notice still on cab window) it's a shame that nobody had fixed the usual 8 litre engine problem having a 'snotty' nose! What is the S14 parked alongside, must have very close to the end of its days? Brilliant photo!

I reckon the bus parked alongside 5110 is an S15 because it has the deeper windscreen similar to the S16 where S14s had a much smaller shallower windscreen. Also there is a bead running just below the windscreen which continues along the power door between the upper and lower windows. There is also a strap from the top of windscreen to top of the door; both these would have been polished when the bus entered service with coach type black roof. Finally it is fitted with hopper windows which are just visible through the nearside windscreen of 5110. As all the 46xx first batch were with drawn by 02/71 it can only be one of four buses allocated to Worcester; 5048 WR 10/69 to 01/73, 5074 WR new 11/62 to RH 11/72, 5077 WR 01/71 to store 05/72 or 5086 WR 11/68 to store 05/72.

Have to agree Tim, I had failed to spot the hopper windows, the real give away! In the era of let's paint everything red even the herzim moulding infill has been sprayed red on 5110 but they left the polished trim around the windscreen unpainted. The days of microscopic fleet numbers were yet to arrive!
