31st October 1987

Worcester Citibus Network changesShow All

On Saturday 31st October 1987, Midland Red West Limited extend their Worcester Citibus network to include Droitwich Spa, and introduce service revisions on most existing Worcester Citibus routes and certain Country and “Midland Express” routes in Worcester, Droitwich Spa, and Malvern areas.

9th September 1991

Crowngate Bus Station (Phase 1) openShow All

At the end of operations on Sunday 8th September 1991, Angel Place Bus Station in Worcester is closed. From the start of operations on Monday 9th September 1991, Phase 1 of the new Crowngate Bus Station is opened with all Worcester Citibus services being re-routed to start and finish at the new site. Services using Newport Street Bus Station continue to use that site but are re-routed to additionally call in Crowngate to and/or from Newport Street. From the same date, existing bus stops at The Cross and Broad Street are taken out of use to allow pedestrianisation of these streets.
