Service 143: Timetable Changes

On Saturday 23rd November 1985, Midland Red (West) Limited replaced all Worcester City Local bus services (using “Wâ€-prefix route numbers, first introduced in 1928) with a new Worcester Citibus network of services operated with high-frequency Mercedes-Benz L608D minibuses. On the same date there are a number of significant service changes throughout the operating area.
- For a three-month trial period, additional journeys will be offered between Charford and Bromsgrove on Service 143.
22nd April 2001
A number of minor changes are made by First Midland Red Buses Limited across the network.
- Service 144 Birmingham to Longbridge (Monday to Saturday) journey departing at 05:23 is renumbered to Service 143.
29th October 2001
- The Redditch Bus Station to Alexander Hospital section of Service 143 is withdrawn on all but one peak-time morning journey.
12th June 2005
- The Birmingham to Catshill section of Service 143 is withdrawn.
- New Service 143 timetable, running hourly between Redditch, Bromsgrove and Catshill. Short-work journeys between Bromsgrove and Catshill give a 30-minute frequency on that section of the route.
- Service 93 and Service 143 are now inter-worked between Bromsgrove and Charford.
4th September 2005
On Sunday 4th September 2005, First Midland Red Buses Limited introduced a number of significant changes across all of their operating area. Many of these are the result of changes to contracts issued by Worcestershire County Council and include the launch of “Worcester Express†network to expand and replace the Worcester North Park+Ride Services, and the withdrawal of Malvern area “FlexiLINK†and “EasyLINK†services.
- Many short-working Service 143 journeys between Bromsgrove and Catshill are withdrawn and partly replaced by additional Service 144 journeys.
3rd March 2013
Kidderminster and Redditch depots soldShow All
On Sunday 3rd March 2013 the operations of Kidderminster depot and Redditch depot are sold to Diamond Bus. At this time, all services operated from those sites are withdrawn by First Midland Red Buses Limited and passed to Diamond Bus.
- Service 143 is withdrawn by First Midland Red Buses Limited. Operation of the service is assumed by Diamond Bus from Monday 4th March 2013, with the same route and timetable.
