County Council contracts changes
First Midland Red Buses Limited won several new contracts from Worcestershire County Council. Most of these were previously operated by Probus Management Limited (trading as Pete’s Travel), who withdrew from all of their contract work in Worcestershire at this time. Other contracts were won or lost from Herefordshire County Council.
- Most Service X33 journeys are withdrawn by Probus Management Limited (trading as Pete’s Travel) and passed to First Midland Red Buses Limited as part of the new “flexiLink†contract.
- Contract to operate local Kidderminster Service 11 and Service 12 is passed to First Midland Red Buses Limited.
- Contract to operate local Bromsgrove Service 97 and Service 98 is passed to First Midland Red Buses Limited.
- Contract to operate Service 291 (Kidderminster and Tenbury) is passed to First Midland Red Buses Limited.
- Worcestershire County Council contract to operate Sunday-only “easyLink†Service 300 is passed to First Midland Red Buses Limited.
- Full operation of Service 303 re-introduced by First Midland Red Buses Limited, running every hour Monday to Saturday between Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Worcester City Centre, Ombersley and Kidderminster. All journeys are operated under Worcestershire County Council contract which require them to be operated using low-floor vehicles.
- Service 304 is re-introduced as a variation of Service 303, with one journey only in each direction in the evenings.
- Herefordshire County Council contract to operate Service 412 (Hereford and Garway) is lost by First Midland Red Buses Limited and the service is withdrawn.
- Service 420 journey from Bromyard to Worcester departing at 1830 on Monday to Friday is withdrawn and partly replaced by extending Service 420 from Hereford at 1740 to serve Bringsty and Whitbourne.
- Service 420 journey from Kings School, Worcester, to Hereford departing at 1603 no longer serves Kings School.
- Herefordshire County Council contract to operate Service 453 and Service 454 is won by First Midland Red Buses Limited.
