On Saturday 20th March 1982, Midland Red (West) Limited revised their services in the Malvern Area and numbered them into the 341–349 range, in line with Service 344 which was the established main route between Worcester and The Malverns. At this time, Service M7 and Service M8 operating between Great Malvern, Colwall Green and Ledbury, were renumbered to Service 347 and Service 348. The routes did not change, with Service 347 running direct between Great Malvern and Wyche Cutting, and the majority of journeys running as Service 348 via West Malvern.
The two routes were last operated by Midland Red (West) Limited on Saturday 31st May 1986 when they were withdrawn, probably in preparation to deregulation of the bus industry later that year. They were replaced by new Service 675 operated by Newbury Coaches (Powell) of Ledbury, starting on Monday 2nd June 1986. While new Service 675 ran over the same route as old Service 348, certain journeys omitted West Malvern and followed the old Service 347 route but these journeys still carried the route number 675.

From Monday 1st September 1986, route number 347 was reused in the Malvern area for a new school service linking Malvern with Blessed Edward Oldcorne School and the Sixth Form College in Worcester. Initially the service started in Great Malvern and ran direct along the Worcester Road to Malvern Link, but this was changed to start at Link Top and run via Belmont to Malvern Link from Monday 27th April 1987.
From Malvern Link, the route ran via Powick and Bath Road to Sidbury, thus avoiding the City Centre. Morning journeys called at Blessed Edward Oldcorne School and then continued to terminate at Worcester Sixth Form College, but the afternoon return journey started Blessed Edward Oldcorne School and did not serve the College.
For the new school year starting in September 1992, Service 347 was extended to start and finish at Rye Cross, and ran via Welland and Hanley Swan to Malvern. The service continued to operate in this form until the end of the 1995/6 school year when it was withdrawn.
