Sorry Adam, I don't know. I won't be able to find out exactly what they are until I return to work, which will be in around 5 -6 weeks.

5-6 weeks... Lucky!

I only asked because I've driven both types and while they are both nice to drive, the MMC version is a cut above the rest. Way better than a StreetDeck.

Not having any idea what these buses are I looked up on the net and 'Bus Lists on the Web' states the following 33863 Reg. No. SL14 LMF type AD E40D SFD4DSBRFEGX37805 with 33864 Reg. No. SL14 LMJ having same designation but chassis number 37811. Both buses entered service 06/2014 with H45/30F layout, operating initially under the First Games Transport banner.

Wikipedia gives a potted history of the later MMC variant as per the attached link;

Adam - that's three weeks signed off, then almost three weeks holiday to take, all on full pay! I'm enjoying every minute.

Reading the Wikipedia write-up on the Enviro 400 MMC it appears that they are all to Euro VI emission standard, so with Worcester City's reluctance to set up a clean air zone (postponed indefinitely!) and all the local Euro VI buses expected to be cascaded to towns and cities with a CAZ, First will continue to replace clean buses with less environmentally friendly vehicles, therefore no MMC's here.

Is the rumour true that most of the passenger friendly Euro VI converted 'Salt Road' Volvos are due to leave for pastures new?

So basically Worcester are getting buses that are at best 10 years old and do not meet the latest emissions standards. :roll:

The Worcester Streetdecks are Euro VI emission standards
The Enviro 400MMC that were built post 2015 are built with Euro VI engines.
It is impossible to put the latter Euro VI engine into the original design of Enviro 400 like the 2 transferred to Worcester last week. The Euro VI engine takes up more space in the engine compartment. The only way Euro VI emissions can be achieved is by fitting an after market bit of kit usually the version fitted to the exhaust system to clean the emissions. The actual engine remains with its original emission standard.

The fact is we have a County Council who don't want to invest in public transport partly because budgets have been cut but are reluctant to work with the operators to bid for funding like has happened in the neighbouring counties like Warwickshire and Staffordshire who we successful in the latest round of low emission bus funding . It was telling in the latest round of bids Rotala put bids for new electric buses in the West Bromwich, Preston and Burton on Trent but nothing for Worcestershire. (They were only successful for the Burton on Trent vehicles)
