Worcester Christmas Fayre 2023.

Post by ANDREW » 17:47 Wednesday 29th November 2023

I see that First Worcester will be operating a park and ride service for the above. Are there enough vehicles - and drivers to provide this service between County Hall and the city ?? Also , do visiting coaches use the parking at County Hall or do they park by the 'viaduct' as normal ? Thank's in advance for any information.

I know some of the management team will be driving, including at least one from Bristol, so hopefully they will have the drivers.

Also, there are extra evening buses, so will extra drivers from Bristol be needed for these, or will overtime for WR drivers cover it ?

This looks like a big effort by First, and perhaps a promising sign ...... (?)

Worcester currently have drivers on loan to Bristol, so if they feel they are going to be short they only have to recall some of those.

9 of the 10 drivers on loan to Bristol have returned to cover the extra services. Also Worcester drivers are on overtime to cover. There won’t be any Normal Bristol drivers coming up, as they are very short at the moment.
The coaches coming from around the country, between 200 and 250 normally, are expected to park at County Hall, not too sure if they will be allowed into the City Centre as City Walls Road is not being reduced to a single lane this year to allow for coaches to drop off and pick up passengers this year.

City Walls being one big coach drop off point was always the norm. It used to annoy regular bus users as they closed the bus stop and everyone had to go to St Nicholas Street.
