I'm not close enough to things to know whether he was making a real difference but it sounds from the comments in the press that things were improving.

A pity therefore that he's gone with the job unfinished. Of course, it could just be that he's had a better offer from elsewhere but, on the other hand, maybe he wasn't able to make much headway with Diamond.

I have heard the owners of Diamond are not easy people to work with. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?
