Another green Volvo arrived yesterday.

And here it is in bits
Engine is out and stripped. It's terminal for the block I'm afraid, as no1 con rod has snapped and smashed the bottom of the cylinder. We have a good spare block that I'm planning to swap everything over into.

It won't happen overnight though as things are really busy with sorting out the green Volvos that are arriving with certain issues and need to go into service quickly.
Been busy building and fitting an engine into 67661 as well the last few days...

Can I say that the mechanical updates are really interesting and I value reading your latest work, a big Thank You.
Re: FMR Fleet Movements
Well they still haven't turned up, and I am told we have now officially given up on getting them back. Not sure if I mentioned it before, but were should have been getting ex-Kidderminster Scania K114EB4 fleet numbers 23305 and 23306, and I was rather looking forward to a trip to Scotland to collect one of them!!
I am now told we have two different second-hand coaches lined up and I have been given the vague arrival date as "sometime this year"!
Re: FMR Fleet Movements
67665 has transferred to Potteries this morning. I must say I was a little disappointed in hearing this news as it is normally my vehicle of choice when operating the single-deck working of the Hay Festival on the first Thursday and Friday, and the last Monday. On trying to secure a nice green Volvo as a replacement, I was told I have to take a First Leicester SteetDeck. Oh joy!
