Yeah I've found it
She ended up in the body shop pretty much ignored by everyone and I've sort of found myself ending up taking stock of what needs doing to her. She's really not that bad but does require a lot of love and time.
I met Jeremy from the museum on Thursday and we had a chat about what areas require the most immediate attention. The worst being the framework immediately below the emergency exit and the OS of the main chassis crossmember in front of the engine and gearbox. It's no worse than my Rover p5b that I spent 2 years restoring under my carport, just a little bigger and heavier...
The museum are going to sort out some materials so I can make a start on making this area secure and I can then tackle the crossmember issues and replace a couple of body outriggers which are rough on the ends.
Most of the skirt panels will need to be removed because the posts they are riveted to are badly corroded but hopefully I can remove these without damaging any of the shiny paintwork.
When all the structure is sorted the plan is to crack on with the mechanical work and try to get her tested and back on the road.
Time as always is a big factor and I seem to have very little of it. Obviously our buses need to come first and we are always busy with our own engine rebuilds, mot preps, servicing etc.
The other time factor which is going to make things difficult is that after the 30th March next year I won't be here for 6 months or more as I'm going travelling in my VW camper. Obviously a full restoration in this timescale is not possible but I will try and do my best to get her ( does she have a name?) ready for the road before I go.
