Compulsory purchase.

Post by TimBrown » 14:48 Thursday 15th February 2024

Thanks to Gordon Smith for noting that the land adjacent to the Padmore Street bus wash which used to be the Vinegar Works railway line now has a compulsory purchase order in place. If you scroll down the attached document there is an easy to follow map as per link below;

Thanks Tim and Gordon. What a palaver, all that paperwork for a small piece of land. Is it any wonder that anything council related takes so long to implement? Looking at the map, it means that the wash will need to be removed (which has been on the cards for around 2 years, it's just that no-one can agree on a new location) and a new exit needed onto Pheasant Street, hopefully not as awkward as the present one. The small section of roadway at the end of Padmore Street might be a little more complicated due to a number of abandoned vehicles there.

Sort of related I guess , Local news reports say the Wyre Forest District Council have purchased the bus station in Kidderminster and the Grade two listed building next to it - that will make one heck of a waiting room . . . . ;)
