37116 & 37025 at Shrub Hill 30 Sep. 2020
Lunchtime action in the rain at Worcester today. 37116 and 37025 'Inverness TMD' are seen working through Shrub Hill on a Network rail test train operating from Swansea to Derby via Whitland, Malvern Wells and Kidderminster. The number of reversals necessitates the 'top-and-tail' mode with an engine at each end of the train.
Tamper track machine 73912 is seen entering the yard en route from Rugby to Long Marston.
230008 is one of five units currently being re-engineered from London Transport D train tube stock with diesel/battery power for the Wrexham to Bidston route operated by Transport for Wales. It has run from the manufacturer's base to Stourbridge and back to Worcester and will make a number more reliability proving runs between the two towns before returning to Long Marston later in the evening.
