It was a tight schedule today Tuesday 10 May 2022 on my way to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for an X-ray, but I managed to take these photographs at Shrub Hill of a heritage diesel cavalcade with 33012 'Lt. Jenny Lewis' hauling 31128 'Charybdis', 37703, D4 (44004) 'Great Gable', and D182 (46045) between Eastleigh and the Severn Valley Railway. Also took a shot of this small cast inspection cover with GWR lettering which can be found on platform 1 at Shrub Hill station near the foot of the stairs for the overbridge to access platform 2.
Thanks for the photo's. It looks like the SVR gala will be the place to be. The GWR and no doubt other railway companies were well known for putting their "stamp" on almost everything they owned. I have even seen initials on wooden chairs.
Today, Monday 23 May 2022, saw the return working of two locomotives which participated at the SVR Diesel Gala over the weekend. Main line passed 33012, D6515, 'Lt. Jenny Lewis RN.' is seen hauling Peak 44004, D4, 'Great Gable' into Shrub Hill Platform 2, where the 33 was uncoupled and ran around through the yard, re-coupled on the other end of the Peak and then returned North en route to the Midland Railway, Butterley the home base of D4. Thereafter 33012 will make the long journey back to Swanage Railway in Dorset.
