I pointed out that 42894 would be the best one to scrap, as noted on another post.I didn’t make myself clear – apologies.
Although the Streetlites will be going to Leicester the others won’t. The Darts are probably for scrap with the Trident to Essex.
I’ll keep in mind your thoughts about 42894.
Worcester Fleet Movements mid/late 2019
Re: Worcester Fleet Movements mid/late 2019
I’ve received an update.
Re: Worcester Fleet Movements mid/late 2019
When 33401-5 go to Essex it would be nice if 3 of there Volvo B7TL Gemini's came back to WR in return, they could replace 32066/7 (which are getting old) & 33404 (if it is also transferring to Essex)
These B7TL could be in the form of 37015-7 which are a similar age to 32643-6 from Leicester (as I don't think we'll be seeing any newer buses in Worcester anytime soon - at least not under First Bus ownership!) A bonus with 37015-7 is that they have leather seats so it would be nice if they could be used on the running boards which include journies on the 30, X50 & 144A. Then the older 4 from Leicester could mainly work the boards which only operate the school and peak time journies and that are not currently utilised as much throughout the day.
This is just one of my theories but I'm probably just clutching at straws

I too like speculating will, and have done so for donkeys years, -- -- when your local operator is part of a big group or company ( - EG: "Good Old Midland Red" !!) it gives one more to scope to speculate !willr7 wrote: ↑15:06 Sunday 18th August 2019When 33401-5 go to Essex it would be nice if 3 of there Volvo B7TL Gemini's came back to WR in return, they could replace 32066/7 (which are getting old) & 33404 (if it is also transferring to Essex)

Unfortunately, I'd be surprised if we get anything back from Essex (for 33401-05) because at June 2019, Essex had c.35 older Tridents that needed replacing !

I bumped into the First Midlands MD at the weekend and tonight he has kindly sent me a summery of planned fleet movements for Worcester. As always he points out that these are current plans and plans do change.
This is a direct quote from his email...Thank you Mr Eggleton for your input. Here goes with fleet movements as they stand this evening, and still subject to some change perhaps. There’s some uncertainly about individual Trident numbers but we aim to remove all remaining
.
Firstly 53065 comes in from Oldham. We’re still debating how many Solos we’d like to retain in Worcester – that depends on some service changes currently being finalised.
Volvo B9TLs coming into Leicester will displace 32643-6 to Worcester to remove 33401/2/4/5 to Essex. The Streetdecks are remaining in Worcester.
Then it’s 11 Citaros from Hampshire to remove 66358-6 to Leicester plus two others – likely to be 42892/3 but may include 33403.
68507/559 are withdrawn due to contract completion.
Shout if any of that doesn’t stack up!
Nigel
Do you know weather any of these vehicles are being refurbished, and will there be any more branded services, eg a new dedicated malverns livery rather than just a logo on the regular urban 2 livery?
Re: Worcester Fleet Movements mid/late 2019
Not the ones mentioned above, but Nigel did post elsewhere that 53061/2 will be repainted soon.

Re: Worcester Fleet Movements mid/late 2019
53061 needs going on a one way journey to Barnsley, not to the paintshop. It is much worse than 42894 which I had last week and was a wonderful drive, considering it is one of the oldest vehicles at Worcester. I will be sad to see the Darts go!
The bridge at Comer Road is due to be strengthened next year, so it may be a bit premature to paint any Optares in a dedicated 31 livery, as the 10 tonne weight limit should be removed.

With regards to the Mercedes, it would be nice to have them painted in a dedicated livery to promote the Malverns. Also, how about one painted in NBC livery to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the formation of the National Bus Company. I know the MD frequently reads the forum, so I am sowing the seeds in the hope this will come to fruition.

53065 is being checked over in the garage at the moment
