Brown and cream Gemini double-decker.
Brown and cream Gemini double-decker.
Whilst driving through Foregate Street this morning I was surprised to see a brown and cream (or off-white) liveried Wright Gemini bodied double-decker heading into the city with the legend 'We are recruiting' on the front blind. Only a quick glance at the number plate and the first part could have been SO56, but didn't have time to see the rest. Any ideas who owns this bus and what it was doing in Worcester?
Re: Brown and cream Gemini double-decker.
I have had a look on the net and believe that the above bus was with Lothian Buses of Edinburgh and that the brown/maroon and cream livery is representative of post-war Edinburgh livery. The registration is SN56 (not as above wrongly given as SO56).

Lothian are supposed to be a good firm to work for - but a hell of a commute from Worcester!

Green Bus have some ex-Lothian Volvo/Wright Geminis, some of which I think may still be in Lothian livery. Could it have been one of those, maybe on a schools private hire?

I believe they do, or have done, private hire work for a Malvern school, using their DDs.JustinTyme wrote: ↑16:23 Thursday 26th January 2023Green Bus have some ex-Lothian Volvo/Wright Geminis, some of which I think may still be in Lothian livery. Re: Brown and cream Gemini double-decker.
Thanks, I have just checked on UK Buses website and it appears Green Bus have no less than 15 ex Lothian Buses Volvo Gemini double-deckers and they carry fleet numbers 401 - 408 & 416 - 422. I don't stray far from home these days so this was news to me!JustinTyme wrote: ↑16:23 Thursday 26th January 2023Green Bus have some ex-Lothian Volvo/Wright Geminis, some of which I think may still be in Lothian livery. I've not looked out for them recently but Green Bus were operating two daily "school runs" that passed through Bromsgrove town centre but I only ever saw the 09 plate ex-LT E400's on these services.
