Re: Autumn 2018 service changes/cuts
A 1205 departure from Worcester for those who have only brief appointments in the city e.g. opticians, is very useful rather than having to wait four hours and of course a departure after 1730 is also needed. The gap between the 1405 departure from Worcester and the 1645 departure is a bit long. Cou...

Re: Autumn 2018 service changes/cuts
I'm not sure how official this is. The County Council still subsidises quite a number of services and I thought Councillor Amos was the one who was in charge of that area. This seems to be almost a deal done between First and two councillors. Councillors do each have a pot of money from the County C...

Re: Public Enquiry
This public enquiry was largely a waste of time with all the fuss about holding it actually in Kidderminster. The charges did not really stick because Diamond came up with reasons, which were accepted by the Commissioner, that much unpunctuality was due to matters beyond their control. Any 'prosecut...

Re: Autumn 2018 service changes (?)
Well, I was going to suggest mass protests by pensioners by hopping on to these buses rather than attending a meeting to try to save them, but after Adam's explanation I am not so sure. On Upton, it surely wouldn't cost the Council much to pay to extend a few 32s to Upton from Baynhall, and even to ...

Re: Autumn 2018 service changes (?)
There is now more detail on the rural routes on the First website -scroll down past the City services detail. https://www.firstgroup.com/worcestershire/news-and-service-updates/planned-changes/changes-services-17-september I suspected it was bad, but I am gutted. Perhaps the Council will help a litt...

Re: Autumn 2018 service changes (?)
DD12 I'm pleased to hear that there was some thinking along these lines at least in the past. I think the X50 was a bit of a copy of Stagecoach's X18 between Stratford and Evesham - a river valley with the difficulty of both sides of the river needing a service. The Stratford bus used to be hourly a...

Re: Autumn 2018 service changes (?)
The expression 'designed by a committee' used on this board elsewhere comes to my mind in regard to the Fifties. What Pershore needs, and its population justifies it, is a reasonably direct half hour service to Worcester. A half hour service is a really convenient service and encourages passengers. ...

Re: Autumn 2018 service changes (?)
I understand from what Sarah East says that First await the County Council's decision on funding for the Pershore services. Doesn't look as though they've got long to make their minds up because under Service 32 it says 'Most journeys that previously showed route numbers 52, 53, 54, 332 & 333 wi...

Re: "Going in the wrong direction !"
I don't doubt the serious downward trend that these official figures show. The figures appear to come from this table https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/666772/bus0109.ods Some of the figures year to year I find a bit odd compared to the pattern in Warwickshire...
