Re: Midland Red DDs - Worcester area
For a long time I was under the impression Malvern only ever ran three double-decks at a time, but I have read somewhere that for a short period they took on an extra 144 turn to cover for another depot that was having problems covering their share of the work. Now I need to remember where I read it...

Re: Midland Red DDs - Worcester area
Been looking at the Worcester allocations in the late 1960s. As I'm sure you know, ten DD12s came to Worcester in 1967 but it seems they replaced all but two D7s, and on this date in 1967 Worcester still only had 12 double-decks. Worcester Allocation 19th October 1967. One year later and the situati...

Re: Visiting Buses at Worcester
Yes, it is a runner but not very well. Stoke engineers have just about given up on it and started raiding it for parts. However, it is now at Worcester for an engine rebuild and to have all the missing parts replaced.

Re: Large Rail Contract Oct 2016 - Buses on Loan
It is looking likely, but not yet confirmed, that the three double-decks that are due on loan from Bristol will be three Enviro400s that car currently on loan to Bristol from Manchester. Looks like they will be calling in at Worcester for a few days on their way home.

Re: Midland Red DDs - Worcester area
Before the new depot in Malvern opened in 1954 there were no double-decks there as the Portland Road garage could only accommodate single-decks. When the new depot did open, the only route that required double-decks was the 144, none of their other routes used them. I have a Worcester area timetable...

Re: FMR: Refurbs and Repaints
67650 is next. It was taken off the road towards the end of last week and unlike the other two, this is going to be painted at the Potteries. Let's hope they make a better job of it than they did with 53044.

Re: The 382 - Public meeting
I was under the impression they were due to stop when the school holidays start, so if that is correct they still have a few more days to run. I may be wrong.

Re: Visiting Buses at Worcester
These are in my opinion still the best vehicles we have had at Worcester. They were an absolute joy to drive. That photo of 66963 in Worcester is now over 10-years old so I guess they won't be as good as I remember them now.

Re: Large Rail Contract Oct 2016 - Buses on Loan
I am under the impression that the three from Bristol are vehicles that have been on loan from Leicester and will be calling in at Worcester on their way home. This would make them some of this years StreetDecks but our network planner, who has organised the work, told me they would be Enviro400s......
