Refurbishment was only cosmetic. Even so, I think the mechanics are still fairly sound on them, but just like every Mercedes Citaro ever made they are riddled with electrical gremlins. I think they are being restricted to city routes now! I hope that this doesn't mean that 64033/5 can't be used on ...

How odd, just been out on a driving lesson and I saw 67699 out ‘in service’ can’t remember which route though
Maybe it’s just the other 3 (urban 2) E300’s that are out of service if there are still only 3 citaro’s out...

Have any more citaro’s entered service? Or are 64012, 64016 & 64018 still the only ones?

And have any of the Solos/Darts/E300’s been withdrawn/transferred to potteries yet?

Guess this will be the last time... I guess this means the heritage livery will be no more as the ‘Midland’ vinyls will probably not be reapplied after Xmas considering it will be departing for potteries soon! Maybe it will transfer to potteries just before Christmas so then it can be in use as ‘Sa...

I saw one in service for the first time, today, and was surprised to see the rear route No. is amber / yellow on black, on 64012 at least, whereas the front display is white on black.

How Odd! I wonder if that is deliberate or a mistake made by Thorntons...

Spotted one of the citaro’s heading into Pershore at about 5pm (Probably to work the College S51) It’s a shame I don’t catch the bus to/from college anymore! Looks like I missed out on something good!

I had 64016 this morning on six 35s. Absolutely fantastic. Smooth, light steering, superb brakes, the only thing wrong was the lack of cash trays. After four and a half hours driving, I felt as if I hadn't done anything, it was such a pleasure to drive. Lets hope the rest of the Citaros are the sam...

I think they are the same type, but I guess the company only bought enough to meet their fleet capacity at the time, plus maybe a few spares. Also, you may have seen that the ticket machine sits on the cab door in the Citaro, and that makes the wiring a bit awkward. I doubt they will want to buy an...
