Re: 20611

If the school service is run as a contract issued by Worcestershire County Council it is probably written into the contract that a vehicle with seatbelts must be used. This is WCC policy so most are. If the service is run commercially then it is up the the operator what vehicle they use.

Re: Cut-backs in Gloucestershire

All of the cut routes have - with the aid of Council Subsidies - been making a modest amount of money Stagecoach. The contracts are being surrendered due to staff shortages. GCC have invited other operators to bid for them, but so far the uptake has been slow because other local operators are suffer...

Do Worcester still run the S55? I’m sure someone said it was withdrawn from the end of last term.
You may be thinking of the S50 Adam (?)

You may have spent too long in the bus paradise of Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, Adam
This is probably true!

Re: Shooting one's own foot!

Really Diamond ticket machines should have it built in that if a Connecta ticket is cheaper for the passengers needs, then that should be offered. It is not in their best interest to do this. If they sell two £3.00 tickets for a return journey, they get to keep 100% of that money for themselves. If...

Re: Showbus 50 The Final one

Nice to see you felt PO12HTC was good enough for a photo. I took that out on the official company photo shoot on the day it came out of the paint shop, and some of my photos were used in the CBW story about it.

Re: David Morris R.I.P.

I heard the news earlier today and was quite shocked as I always imagined him as one of those people that would go on forever. It's not that long ago that I saw him out driving a bus.

The industry has lost another great character.

Re: The End of Worcester to Birmingham 144 !!

More lost milage this evening with reports of bus windows being put through by kids on the 144a. Commonplace at Yardley Wood lately. Our first 6 had a window bricked this morning at 0430 whilst running private to Shirley. Averaging approx at least six buses a day if not more being bricked or upper ...

Re: Arrival EV

The bus in the video shows "10 JR Hospital" on the destination blind... That's one of our routes!

I wonder if we'll be getting a demonstration vehicle?
