Re: Cut backs from January 2022.
Herefordshire Council's announcement made Yeomans out to be the bad boys (along the lines of "we asked them to wait until April before withdrawing services but they refused"), so I'm not surprised that Yeomans have worded their press release in the way they have. As Yeomans say that loadin...

Re: 6015
Yes, well done to everyone involved.
I remember 6015 in its EM days back in the 1970s on the 148, so I really look forward to seeing it in use again.

Very similar to Warwickshire County Council's recent announcement: -

Re: WW1 Gas Powered Buses
BMMO ran a number of buses on gas during World War 1 - as did other operators - due to petrol shortages that forced many services to be withdrawn. The same happened in World War 2. In fact the Government told bus operators to convert a proportion of their fleets to run on gas, although the intended ...

Re: Charabanc made in Birmingham
Thanks Tim. If it's any consolation I live and learn too - and I think that's a good thing! It's a great photo. It looks like it was specially posed - perhaps for the start of a new tour or a new season (1907?) at Scarborough railway station. Forge Valley was less than five miles away and Filey less...

Re: Charabanc made in Birmingham
I googled "Charabanc BT255" and, miraculously, the answer appeared! Thanks to The Local Transport History Library, this link has all the details about the vehicles and operation: - http://www.lthlibrary.org.uk/library/PDF-118-1.pdf Briefly, BT212 was a Saurer new in 1906, and BT255 was a D...

Re: WR depot, today
I've had to smile at the thought of 5LW-powered Fleetlines!
A few Fleetlines had 6LW engines, including some Walsall short models. I travelled on a few of them in WMPTE days and they struggled, as indeed did 6LWs in front-engined 30 foot chassis.

I'm glad you got a photo of the Dennis Ace fire engine. That's my favourite vehicle there - beautiful! Even better than the buses!

Re: Cannock depot sold to Centrebus/D & G Bus
D&G's website is now live for the Cannock area services it is taking on. Interestingly, it is bringing back the Chaserider name: - https://www.dgbus.co.uk/chaserider.html?fbclid=IwAR3_e0mA_lvY1Gxws5w9M2zr_1pM03pS-cooFHDmeQbIzoRNwxGtAZShSxk I was wrong about one Stafford town service staying with...
