Re: "along the Salt Road" !
Strange letter in The Times today from a lady in Dorset who says that she would be prepared to pay her bus fare but has been told by the local bus company that it would be illegal to collect fares from concessionary pass holders. Sounds like a bit of an excuse to me as who is to know whether she has...

Re: World Shattering Announcement
Should be 9th Feb according to my best mate who has a booking office job there. Staff going in next week for training. All CrossCountry Cardiff to Nottingham trains will call but not the long distance 'voyager' services. All GWR Worcester to Paddington via Eveshan will call except a couple in each ...

World Shattering Announcement
Very pleased to see that Worcestershire County Council has announced that trains will call at the new Worcestershire Parkway Station as soon as it has opened. Sadly, they can't say which trains they will be or when it will open but it is indeed reassuring to know that one day it is going to be used ...

Re: "along the Salt Road" !
I recall the CM5s on the X43/44 Worcester to Birmingham having to be refuelled in Worcester if used for all, or at least most, of the day. There was only a 10 minute rest between journeys so the WR Morris Commercial lorry was sent down to Newport St. Bus station with several large cans of fuel to re...

Re: Customer relations - or not!
I think you have to wonder whether they actually want passengers or are they trying to run their services down?

Re: "along the Salt Road" !
It may be because of the services already using the Bromsgrove Railway station stop; Diamond 42, hourly each way between Redditch and Kidderminster. Diamond 43, hourly each way between Bromsgrove Hospital and Redditch. Diamond 145/145A, every hour between Rubery/Longbridge and Wychbold or Droitwich...

Re: Changes to Worcester city 36/36A & 37 from 05/01/20.
And I remember the days when the 144 ran direct between Bromsgrove and Birmingham without mucking about going over speed bumps around Catshill. And they lost a regular passenger in me as it's a 25 minute walk now from my home to catch a 144. Much easier to get the car out and drive to the station (...

Re: Changes to Worcester city 36/36A & 37 from 05/01/20.
The 144 is being reduced to an hourly service for most of the day That's a shock !! It would appear then that the Salt Road rebranding exercise has been a failure. I have always felt that giving buses silly names and painting them in odd colours is not really what passengers (sorry, custome...

Re: Delays and strikes on West Midlands Railway
Couldn't agree more, Tim. The concept of one person operated trains is sheer lunacy.
