Re: Cannock depot sold to Centrebus/D & G Bus

Arriva have also confirmed the sale, along with a list of services transferring: - https://www.arrivabus.co.uk/latest-news/arriva-to-sell-cannock-depot-to-d&g-bus I believe the sale has been on the cards for some time. Cannock garage also runs Stafford area services, following the closure of Sta...

Re: The MR Atlanteans that never were!

I recall Atlanteans being ordered in the 1970s. The 1971 order was for no fewer than 118, 50 with MCW bodies and 68 with Alexanders. The other 20 MCWs were diverted to Maidstone & District. Being single door and with 3-piece destination blinds, they must have been almost to Midland Red spec. Som...

Re: Borrowed or bought ??

The website bustimes.org has it as last active with Johnsons on 28 March - see https://bustimes.org/operators/johnsons-excelbus/vehicles . The website has the proviso that information is not always accurate, "e.g. when ticket machines/tracking equipment are moved between vehicles", but it ...

Re: Nuneaton in January 2011

I like the photos. I worked in Nuneaton for a few years, and these photos don't seem from long ago. But on the Stagecoach front, only the Enviro 200s are still in service - and who would have thought that Centrebus at Hunckley would have morphed into Arriva becoming a ratrher bigger second force in ...

Re: Mersey Ferry & Pier Head Pt. I.

Great photos Tim. I was in Liverpool in 2010 as well, but for Diploma course contact days at the University. I managed to do the ferry on a late afternoon commuter round trip from Pier Head, calling at Seacombe and Woodside, for even less than the cruise price - and no "Ferry Cross the Mersey&q...

Re: Next Service changes

I expect the next move on the 146, 202 and 303 will be up to Worcestershire County Council. I can't blame Diamond for ceasing to run them if loadings will negligible. I wonder if WCC will increase the 182/183 Redditch - Alvechurch - Lickey - Bromsgrove from the current once a day each, to replace th...

Re: Next Service changes

From what I've been able to find out from Omnibus Society sources, although this is not totally confirmed, it looks like the 481 was suspended with effect from 23 March and the other services with effect from 6 April.

Re: Revised services from 23 March 2020.

303 between Kidderminster and Worcester suspended altogether from Friday 27 March 2020 with heavy cuts to most Diamond services elsewhere in Worcestershire from Monday 30 March 2020 ... I saw Simon Dunn reply to a post about this on Facebook on Friday saying that not one person used the 303 the pre...

Re: Buses serving Norton Parkway

A similar situation occurred a couple of years ago, when Kenilworth Station finally opened. As with Worcestershire Parkway the station opening day was confirmed at very short notice, but Stagecoach Midlands were allowed a short notice variation by the Traffic Commissioner to provide a Station Link s...
