Black Five Sunday at Droitwich.

A few grainy shots of The Welsh Marches Express today Sunday 27 November 2016 at Droitwich en route to Cardiff via Foregate Street , Malvern and Hereford. Two Black Fives 44871 and 45407 headed the train and 47802 was on the rear, presumably for train heating and traction back-up in the unlikely eve...

Re: Real Time Information

I would have though the display should show "0 mins" or "Now" when your bus arrived. Anyone who arrived one minute later would be pleased to read they only have a short wait, yet in reality they have missed it. Was the bus running two minutes early by chance? No not at all...

Re: Real Time Information

Spotted a couple of displays on the Service 38 route tonight. I travelled in to the City centre this morning on the 37 from the New Inn, Ombersley Road and noted that the real time display system was telling me how long the wait for the next bus would be in minutes; it progressively reduced as the ...

Re: Real Time Information

While heading up the Bromyard Road this morning on the first 420 I noticed at least 4 shelters now have real time displays fitted. They look like they are working too. The one at New Inn, Ombersley Road was working yesterday afternoon, but it has a digital note saying that the the system is still b...

Re: Steam 12/11/16.

What a shame - a pannier and a '47' doesn't seem quite right and must have disappointed many enthusiasts. Still, these things happen from time to time and can't really be helped when dealing with such elderly pieces of machinery. It was an unusual combination and fortunate that Tyseley run a preser...

Re: Steam 12/11/16.

The " Pannier Rambler " returns this Saturday , Worcester/Stratford/Kidderminster / Lickey etc. :P Apparently Pannier Tank 9600 failed with a hot-box near Tyseley on the return leg from Stratford-on-Avon and Class 47 47773 replaced it for the journey to Worcester and back, so we did get o...

Re: Class 37 diesels Charter Worcester area Sunday 23 Oct. 2016

I have to admit that I am not generally a great fan of diesel locomotives but particularly the sound of a Class 37 in action does something for me. A few years ago when they were allocated to the Holyhead to Birmingham New Street services, I travelled to Crewe and back several times just to hear th...

Class 37 diesels Charter Worcester area Sunday 23 Oct. 2016

Photographs of The 'Thrash Bash' Rail Operations Group charter organised in conjunction with Vintage Trains Tour Company running yesterday Sunday 23 October 2016. Two immaculately turned out Class 37 locos, 37800 and 37884, hauled the 10 coach train with equally pristine Class 47, 47815, on the rear...

Re: The 382 - Public meeting

...it would need a subsidy... In that case, forget it! It was reported last night the amount of money the Government has to spend on buses has dropped from £100m two years ago to £37m for this year. That drop in budget has been felt very much by the local authorities. I have been reading this topic...

Re: BaMMOT WMPTE 30 Celebrations 09 Oct part three.

That recovery truck is mean! 8-) 09 October 2016 BaMMOT Wythall 076.jpg Yes the Foden is a very powerful good looking vehicle with heavy lift capabilities, but it wouldn't pull a 5.5 inch medium gun through a desert or wet muddy field, or rescue broken down or stuck 4 x 2 wagons in similar conditio...
