Re: BaMMOT Event day Monday 29 August 2016

LD8 4031 was also immaculate and a joy to ride on. I used to travel to school in Wythall by Midland Red buses in the 1960s but LD8s somehow always avoided me, so I was pleased to ride on one at long last. As if more proof was ever needed here is a shot of 4031 which is only just in frame, but shows...

Re: BaMMOT Event day Monday 29 August 2016

That Seddon coach looks the dog's whatsits. 8-) It goes like a scalded cat - just over 8 litres of V8 power with 170 BHP at 2,800 RPM and naturally aspirated too, giving that lovely thrum of all 'V' configuration engines rising to a howling crescendo! Believe it or not the coach has a completely fl...

Re: BaMMOT Event day Monday 29 August 2016

I was also at Wythall on Monday - and not living far away I was able to get there and back entirely by bus, which added to the enjoyment! I agree totally with Tim. My first ride was on BCT 2548 which really is in beautiful condition. LD8 4031 was also immaculate and a joy to ride on. I used to trav...

Re: BaMMOT Event day Monday 29 August 2016

Great pics as always Tim :) Yes, your excellent photos, Tim, inspire me to attend more rallies and museums. I too, will have to ride 3744 sometime. One December in the early 60's, I boarded a similar Midland Red bus at the New Inn on the Ombersley Road, - on private hire to a pantomime in Malvern. ...

BaMMOT Event day Monday 29 August 2016

Good to see LD8 4031 SHA 431 back on the road. Enjoyed a trip on S12 3744 NHA 744 and SON 2418 GHA 337. Had a ride on Wartime Daimler CWA6 Utility lowbridge double decker CCX 777 new to Huddersfield in 1945 - this bus went very well with a small AEC 7.7 litre engine. Birmingham Guy Arab 2548 must be...

A few more pictures taken at Gaydon today. Lots of variety, very well attended so some patience needed to take photos hence the number of enthusiasts in many shots! 21 August 2016 Gaydon bus event 014.jpg 21 August 2016 Gaydon bus event 023.jpg 21 August 2016 Gaydon bus event 033.jpg 21 August 2016 ...

Re: Gaydon Buses Festival 2016

Three buses from FMR will be heading to Gaydon tomorrow. Alas 67647 will not be making it's first public outing in Urban2 livery as planned because it isn't back from the paint shop yet, so Volvo 66692 will be taking it's place. The line up, cleaned and ready to go... A few more photos of the Gaydo...

Re: FMR Service Changes September 2016

Yet there are ten buses in each direction on Sundays! I have uploaded to 36/36A timetable to this website to make easier comparisons between days. Link I am very pleased that the Sunday 36A arrangement hasn't been knocked on the head, I try to promote it wherever possible to residents living North ...

Re: FMR Service Changes September 2016

No, all journeys run the same way to the hospital and it is an hourly frequency. Link to Timetable . That is much worse than I had envisaged, incredible that there will only be 5 buses in each direction along Bilford Road with nothing in the peak period. I remember when the 36 and 38 services opera...
