Re: Kidderminster Depot
it's on the 192 today, and at least it's showing some indication of what route it is on, with a piece of paper in the corner of the windscreen!

Re: New routes in Worcester
I am wondering of the U1 has received some funding from the University? I find that their staff and students usually have a generally more appreciation of "green" travel methods. As others have say in the lack of support from local authorities, it's useful to grab funding from other sources!

Re: £2.00 Fares
Well interestingly the £2.50 fare is due to run till November 2024. The next General Election has to be by the end of January 2025 I believe. So the discount fare will probably run out just before the Election. So perhaps buses might actually feature as a prominent GE subject for once as I can't see...

Re: New 196 DMUs enter service at Worcester.
Glad these are starting to enter service now, speaking from a Kidderminster rail users perspective: I note that the new Snow Hill timetable from May is showing some trains running as 2, 3 or 4 carriage formations, despite earlier indications that these would all be 5 carriages. But perhaps as more 1...

Re: Shrub Hill & Sherriff Street development
Like you Tim I am surprised that such a tall development has been allowed.
I keep hearing about plans to demolish Elgar House to improve the view of the station from the front, but surely now there will be a tall modern building visible in the background instead!

Re: Shooting one's own foot!
Really Diamond ticket machines should have it built in that if a Connecta ticket is cheaper for the passengers needs, then that should be offered. Not sure if they have the technology for that, and certainly in Kidderminster, the last time I tried to buy a Kidder Connecta ticket, the driver couldn't...

Re: Redditch bus routes under threat
Another baffled customer here. I live on the 52 route at the Kidderminster end and agree that the loadings seem pretty good, the trips around college times in particular can be full. There are some late trips which seem empty however, so I can see those going. I travel often on a Saturday out along ...

Re: D9 5035 history
Mike Some two or three years go there was a video on Youtube featuring an OT D9 with a band playing upstairs, complete with piano and rumoured to be in Herefordshire / Wales. The identity of the D9 was difficult because of its transcription from cine to video. It was found via a fairly obscure link...

Re: Bus service review in Worcestershire.
The Diamond advance warning said that the 303 route would be amended from 24/07/22. On a post on the Wyre Forest Bus Users Facebook page Simon Dunn advised that: The 303 is being re-routed to cover the 37 service. We are hopeful this will improve its viability. at the same time in the short term Wor...

Re: Dudleys Coaches to close at end of year
There's been a whole host of Royal Motorways coaches travelling around the Comberton Road and Chester Road North area of Kidderminster this evening. As it's near the railway station I was wondering if they were on Rail Replacement, but as there's none in the area today it's not that, so presumably s...
