Re: Double Deckers

I believe some of that fleet are heading to the Midlands, but not Worcester and not double-decks! Nine StreetLites to Leicester and three to Potteries have been mentioned elsewhere. The Streetlites First Manchester have are all allocated to Oldham. I believe there have been a number of service cuts...

Re: First Group to be split and sold off.

All owned by First. The land that is now the bus park was acquired in the 1960s by BMMO to build a new depot to replace both Padmore Street and East Street sites, but there were problems with planning due to a proposed road expansion. By the time that was sorted bus usage was on the decline and the...

It was this post from almost a year ago that got me thinking that First may simply close the doors on Padmore Street and walk away... Link.
Am I correct in saying that First only own the Padmore St depot land, whilst the bus park land is leased ?

There is no indication to me, that it is anything more than speculation and rumour.
NX were involved in the early stages of bidding for First Manchester depots, but didn't proceed further on price / pension grounds.

Local press speculation that NX Group are bidding to buy First Worcester, assume they will also be looking at other ops:

Re: will diamond buy worcester

I suspect Stagecoach and/or Souter Investments will be looking to buy some/all of Arriva Group & First Bus UK. The former now only operates in the UK having sold their US interests & most recently being blocked from bidding for UK rail, whilst the latter has just had a £160 million cash injection fo...

Re: Replacement Coaches for Worcester

When I zoomed into the picture I noticed that they have put the fleetnumber on the coach! I was surprised as it was neither of the ones we initially thought... It shows 20611 (LK07 CDE) This coach is the same body and has most recently operated for First Berkshire (like the citaro’s) And looking at...

Just trying to work out what other operators livery this bus is similar to . . . . :?:
Yarringtons?
Looks more like a Best Impressions reincarnation of Transdev's Pride of the North livery:

Re: Public Enquiry

I did come across this article from 2011 regarding wheel loss incidents & various causes: http://www.transportengineer.org.uk/transport-engineer-features/careless-torque-costs-lives/34983 I suspect a lot of the younger mechanics / engineers that are employed within the bus industry these days are li...
