Description | Stopped for a quick photograph while operating a Service 676 to Ledbury. Bus services to West Malvern were suspended due to fuel rationing during the First World War and Midland Red agreed to reinstate them only if the local authorities built a terminus and bus turning point. The result was this lay-by cut into the side of the hill which was used by Midland Red to turn buses on local Malvern Service M16 (previously Service 366) until the closure of Malvern depot in October 1976. These days it’s normally full of parked cars, but Service 675 and Service 676 call there on the way to Ledbury. |
