This is quite a curious photo ! - It shows the first Leyland National for Midland Red when new. -- -- It's the only one to be delivered in NBC light red livery, with all the rest delivered in poppy red. -- -- 101 was the first of the new numbering series introduced for the new Midland Red Omnibus Company, following on from 6473 of the Birmingham & Midland Motor Omnibus Co., which had just lost all it's central garages and buses to the West Midlands PTE. -- -- It's "curious" because the camera makes it look like the short version of the National, and it has a WR destination blind, but it never saw public service in Worcester.
