- Appointed Chairman of the Board of Dircetors for the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited
(BMMO—Midland “Red”) in 1946, following the retirement of Mr. R.J. Howley C.B.E.
- Spencer House, part of the Digbeth depot complex is officially
named in his honour, on 20th June 1958.

- Conferred Knight Bachelor by H.M. Queen Elizabeth II on Tuesday 2nd December 1969, at Buckingham
