23^rd November 1985

Worcester Citibus Network LaunchedShow All

On Saturday 23^rd November 1985, Midland Red (West) Limited replaced all Worcester City Local bus services (using “W”-prefix route numbers, first introduced in 1928) with a new Worcester Citibus network of services operated with high-frequency Mercedes-Benz L608D minibuses. On the same date there are a number of significant service changes throughout the operating area.

• New combined timetable for Service X8, Service 246, Service 247, Service 248 and Service 249 group of routes.

19^th April 1986

Redditch “ReddiLink” Network LaunchedShow All

On Saturday 19^th April 1986, Midland Red (West) Limited replaced all local Redditch Town services (using “R”-prefix route numbers) with a new Redditch “ReddiLink” network of services operated with high-frequency Mercedes-Benz L608D minibuses.

• Service 248 (Birmingham and Wythall) journey departing Birmingham at 15:37 is extended to Redditch Bus Station.

28^th April 1991

Birmingham, Black County and Solihull Network changesShow All

From Sunday 28^th April 1991, a large number of service changes are made to Midland Red West services in the Birmingham and Black Country areas due, in part, to Centro contract changes.

• Birmingham Local Service 247 and Service 248 between Dudley and Stourbridge is withdrawn by Midland Red West and replaced by other operators.
