What do you drive?
Re: What do you drive?
Thats why I've just bought another Cougar
Re: What do you drive?
Just got her started up today and driven round the field - runs beautifully but a marked lack of brakes!
As you can imagine after standing for three years it will need brakes and tyres doing but fortunately before it was put away it was undersealed so only one small patch of welding required
Bodywork lovely just dusty and a few cobwebs - should be on the road in a couple of weeks.
Re: What do you drive?
Well I guess it keeps you out of trouble!
It may be a Ford but I do like a good restoration story, so keep me updated.

Re: What do you drive?
Cheers mate. Big box of parts arriving tomorrow, might have a go at it on Saturday as it's the annual Cougarfest (no, that isn't what it sounds like )
Re: What do you drive?
Sorry for lack of updates on this.
Unfortunately i found both a serious electrical issue and a lot more rot on the blue Cougar, so now it has been stripped for parts.
However, the fleet has been extended in recent weeks with the addition of this
and this
Both now MOT'd and on the road.

Re: What do you drive?
I turn my back for ten minutes and you buy a Saab!
Re: What do you drive?
Can't believe you put those spot light of the front. We're not in the 1970s you know!
Meanwhile I was at a meeting of my car club Saturday night and they kindly reminded me it was exactly one year to the day since my GT-B decided to go pop and leave me stranded at the side of the motorway, right on the boarder between France and Belgium. How time flys! Well there has been progress because I took a few days leave from driving buses a couple of weeks ago and took the engine out of the car. That is all. Maybe by the time of the second anniversary I will have stripped it down and found the fault...

Re: What do you drive?
Just say the word if you need a hand getting it sorted mate.
The lights are a tribute to my rallying heroes from the 70s and 80s - Tony Pond, Russell Brookes, Jimmy McRae etc
Just wait until I add a pair of upside-down fogs underneath
