Just spent an hour in Padmore Street depot with Mechwr26 catching up on the gossip. Progress has been made on 6015 with help from 943KHA, and hopefully he will update us on here soon.

Hi all, yep as Adam stated JP and I have stripped and rebuilt the brakes and now have a really good brake test result, 2nd gear now working, engine mountings sorted, boot hinges repaired, boot lock repaired, rear axle bump stop replaced, steering idler replaced by John and the list goes on..
Interior bells, demister, doors and emergency door warnings fixed by our new electrician Steve,
By the way John Maggs has done quite a few jobs on it recently too and he retires on Thursday after being at Padmore Street since 1979. I'm going to miss the guy, he taught me a huge amount when I was an apprentice in the 80s
That will leave only myself and Mick Broderick from the former MRW Badgerline days at Worcester garage ( I think)

Many thanks to you Mr.C / "Pasty"/ "Mechwr26", and to Mr.JP/ "943KHA", and all the other guys, for all your hard work.

- I was told many years ago, - when it had a very smart repaint etc, that it would never be roadworthy again, - so that "confirms" the very long list of jobs and the efforts made !!

Your very recent work on the brakes has awakened a 54 year old memory I have that the brakes could be quite fierce when new, - but that could be a somewhat "false memory" associated with the sharp expulsion of air, as 6046-55 pulled away from the bus-stop !!

Thanks again.
:)

When 6015 arrived at the Museum in 03/85 compared to Fleetlines from other operators that we were buying straight out of service it was not in a good state, bodily and mechanically; it had a hard life towards the end of its service life with Midland Red East extracting every last bit of life out of it.Even the journey back from Leicester was 'eventful' with the front brakes seizing on at a roundabout and being freed with the help of a large hammer. Consequently it tended to be forever put to the back of the shed whilst other (WMPTE / BCT) Fleetlines got overhauled first. As a Midland Red man this didn't go down well with me (it does after all have one of the most attractive body styles for a Fleetline), so I'm very glad that it is now being sorted by the good services of Nigel E and Pasty at the sharp end. And, yes Adam that is the first selfie.....

Yes - many thanks to Nigel Eggleton, - - without his help this restoration probably would not have happened !!
It's not just my favourite bus, but it represents a time when everyone I knew travelled by bus to + from the City Centre, and further afield, and made no fuss about it.

Since then the population and population density has increased dramatically, and I would love to see a "bus renaissance" here in Worcester.

(No Subarus allowed in the city centre, Adam :P )

This picture of 6015 outside on the patch yesterday Tuesday 6 July 2021 was taken through the fence by my friend Bob Hemming and reproduced with his kind permission.

Thanks for posting the photo Tim -- it's rather ironic that 6015 has been here at WR for quite a long time now, but hardly ever on "the patch", -- but that's a good thing in that it's been protected from the elements, and hasn't attracted vandals !!

- MOT next week IF they can get the platform doors to work !!
:)

So what is the combined age of the 3 vehicles in the photo? Worcester’s fleet is not getting any younger!
