I can't imagine them repainting 53061 into 'Riversider'. As pre-Covid the 31 was operated using 2 Solo's all day (Mon - Sat).

It could receive the spare bus livery... But considering we're not going to have our 'barbie' 54 plate decker's painted, I would imagine 53061 will remain in 'barbie' until Withdrawal now!

Thanks for the update on 53061, these Solos are getting 'long in the tooth' now and I seem to remember that there was talk many years ago of corrosion problems with this design, so lucky (depending on your viewpoint) that 61 & 62 survive at all.

On the topic of 54 plate double-deckers, is there any news about 33404 departing for Essex, if so whether it will be repainted or, as suggested elsewhere would happen on 32646, being covered in vinyl's?

Is there a Santa bus this year? I noticed South Yorkshire have 1 just wondered if Worcester/Midlands are doing one?

I haven't seen one, but in lieu of the Santa bus I found this link to flicker site showing 33404 still operating in Essex in Midland Red livery and it seems to be well looked after;

We've been trying to get 36241 or 2 painted into possibly NBC poppy red livery, with Severnlink logos. which would have been nice to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the splitting up of Midland Red. We'll keep trying.
