Stratford Blue 15675 at Redditch 8 February 2018

Travelled over to Redditch today, 8 February 2018, intending to take some photographs, but the wind was whistling down through the bus station with no mercy so decided to cut my losses and head back to Bromsgrove. Whilst waiting for the next service, my eye was caught by a blue and white double-decker coming down the hill, so immediately changed my mind and took the attached shots - if there is any blurring, blame it on the cold and a shaking hand!

The style of lettering on the side of the vehicle and the colour scheme is reminiscent of former South Notts of Gotham vehicles. 8-)

I got lucky in Pershore with 15675. Rare enough to get a Decker in Pershore , let alone seeing Stratford Blue in the town.

That's a great photo, thanks sockin ! ( - it's given me a cosy Sunday feeling !)

I'm amazed that Stagecoach are still running this Sunday extension from, and to Pershore ! ( - is there a special funding for it ?)

I posted on here, about a year ago, that I got a "nice 1950s vibe" from seeing a DD here on a Sunday, - and the Stratford Blue livery takes that feeling a step further !

However ! - does anyone know if Midland Red (or even Stratford Blue  ) ever used DDs in Pershore in the 50's ( - 1950's that is) -- or 60's ?? -
(TIM ? :) )

I didn't start to get interested until 1967, and because I was at school I missed-out on seeing some interesting DD workings at school times.

I don't think double deckers worked into Pershore, at least not from Evesham because of the height restrictions under Hampton railway bridge on what used to be the A44 just this side of Evesham Waterside. Not sure, but there may have been a taboo about passing under the GWR railway bridge just East of Norton which even to this day has warning to high vehicles (buses and lorries) to use the middle of the road. Believe any double-deck transfers between Evesham and Worcester would have used the road that is now A44 via Wyre Piddle/Pinvin Cross roads B4084? (as was) route to Spetchley then A422 to London Road top for A44 into town.
