44607 YX14RUU
Enviro 200 44607 which has not seen much use since it arrived at Worcester depot is currently parked on the patch at Worcester and has been rub down and prepared for a repaint. It has a number of multi-coloured replacement fibreglass panels and lots of new metal shirt panelling - Presumably it will be off soon for a coat of new corporate colours
Re: 44607 YX14RUU
Very interesting, thanks Reddibus.
That sounds like non-standard panelling (? )
I hope it will be successful !

Re: 44607 YX14RUU
If it takes very nearly three months to procure the spares and replace all the battered panels in the lower parts of a relatively small E200 single-decker, however long is it going to take to bring the rest of a very tatty fleet (63 vehicles?) up to anything like the standard of the buses transferred out to CAZ clean air zones (South Wales, Bristol & Weston-Super-Mare) where councils demand Euro 6 exhaust or electric buses and are getting them?
To be fair, I have noticed one or two unpainted new skirt panels fitted to the less work-weary examples of those ex-Welsh E200's, so some at least might make it into that rather bland new corporate livery, but I guess that is better than the current down-market image where most of Worcester's current cascaded machines haven't, or at least don't appear to have, seen a lick of paint in their entire 11 to 13 year lives. The interiors aren't much better with top surface of grey leather-look vinyl peeling and missing from many of the worn-out seats.
Come on First Bus Head Office, the second-hand Worcester fleet needs urgent attention with upwards of 6 to 10 buses going away for overhaul to a speciallist body shop every month and the same number of DECENT cascades to take their place during the next twelve months. THIS CITY DESERVES BETTER!

Thanks for the update on 44607 , it is the only one of our "new fleet" that I have not yet seen. Any chance of a repaint in Wyvern colours ?? Also , I am sure that one of the South Wales E200's still says "Bridgend District" or something similar on the side.

Re: 44607 YX14RUU
44607 has now arrived at the First Potteries paint shop at their Adderley Green depot
Re: 44607 YX14RUU
So does this mean more will head up for repaint in the near future or just this one for now?
Re: 44607 YX14RUU
44607 is reported to be awaiting collection.
