From Saturday 1st March Diamond Bus will be taking over the 552 and 553 services in Evesham from Henshaw's - These were First Midland Red services in the days when they had an Evesham depot. The services will be run from Redditch. Redditch will gain 2 extra vehicles in the form of 66 plate Enviro 200MMCs. Presumably they will be initially allocated to the new routes and like usual will end up on virtually any route operated from Redditch

Rotala Diamond seem to be expanding bit by bit in the Midlands in the same way that Midland Red did around a century ago. Are there more takeovers on the cards?

Sorry to see Henshaw's lose out on stage carriage work; do they have services elsewhere in the Cotswolds?

'Bustimes' have them down as just operating the two services and owning 4 Optare Solo's. I guess they could acquire other routes as sometimes happens.

Diamond have also won some work from LMS - 21, 210 and 356.

Thanks Reddibus for putting this info on this forum -- it's very interesting to me, and because the county council fail to put important info on their website, the changes could have "passed me by", -- until I saw a DIAMOND on these services -- leaving me scratching my head !!
