Padmore Street Friday 6 Dec 2024
These pictures, taken by Bob Hemming from the Pheasant Street gate, show a number of Worcester's 'new' old double-deckers at lunchtime on Friday 6 December 2024, presumably idle for most of the day between morning and late afternoon school contract runs. Their livery is very drab and uninspiring to say the least and I wonder when the promised new paint jobs will start appearing, or has that idea been shelved?
Re: Padmore Street Friday 6 Dec 2024
First officially launched their new brand yesterday, so I would imagine the new livery wont be far behind. How long it takes to filter down to Worcester is another question altogether. I don't see any of the new logos on those buses, so I'm guessing they are waiting for the crayons to be delivered!
Re: Padmore Street Friday 6 Dec 2024
According to a message on the company website, Worcester is to receive a new livery, is a similar fashion to the Green livery for West of England services. However what it will be was not announced, it depends of consultations with the local authority.
Re: Padmore Street Friday 6 Dec 2024
It might be a good idea if Worcester's livery was green similar to Bristol's, so when we receive cascades from there, the cost of a full repaint could be avoided.bmmoboy wrote: ↑18:06 Friday 13th December 2024According to a message on the company website, Worcester is to receive a new livery, is a similar fashion to the Green livery for West of England services. Also I would guess that some of Fist Bus's MDs, and some county councils, hate First's new blue and grey livery, as much as do !

Re: Padmore Street Friday 6 Dec 2024
Glad it isn't just me thinking that the new First Bus livery of battleship grey and drab blue is very undistinguished. The green applied to the 'Salt Road' well liked Volvos (just a memory now) was OK but I reckon that the livery applied to some of those buses on repaint was the best we have had at Worcester in the First Bus era;
Still can't come to terms with the drab wishy-washy liveried battered buses with worn-out interiors that were exchanged for a fleet of well kept Euro 6 exhaust emission vehicles - hope there is a major improvement of bus marketing and appearance in this city for 2025 (fingers crossed!).Re: Padmore Street Friday 6 Dec 2024
It was my hope to be able to drive a new liveried vehicle before I retire, but unless there is a miracle, this will not happen. Only two days left now, my last service will be the 19.10 34 to Sixways on Friday.
