Managed to take a few photographs today at The Transport Museum, Wythall event day. The 1931 Birmingham City Transport Piano Front AEC Regent I No. 486 was out this bank holiday giving rides to the Maypole so I make no apologies for taking a load of shots with some showing a full load!

Thanks Tim for the photo of the D5B --
I don't remember the rear adverts -- they look like the real authentic deal to me (?), if so, I hope the museum will not try to make them look like new !!

Thanks Tim…some very good pictures there, including one featuring me!
I have to agree it was a very good day and I was fortunate to ride on the top deck of the BCT AEG Regent, which was a fantastic experience. It was also nice to travel on the S17 as well.
Here’s a few of my pictures from Bank Holiday Monday…

Thank you for your excellent pictures, I didn't even try to ride on BCT AEC Regent I 486, would probably have been trampled in the rush, such was the demand! Just watching on the Museum car park, the petrol-engined double-decker seemed to be quite lively and quiet, the loudest noise coming from the 'singing' gearbox. By coincidence, you also managed to photograph me with my faithful stick

Excellent pictures. I really like the Paramount coach, that design was so commonplace in my childhood. I used to have loads of the EFE models. I bet there weren't many built on Merc chassis though as that one appears to be?

For Paramount lovers, particularly ex-WR ones, 1006 will be at Victoria Coach Station on Saturday 24th September as part of the 90th Anniversary celebrations.
If you get down there, do say hello!
