The reason for transfers from Leicester is that a low emision zone soon there. I ithink all buses must be euro 6.

It seems that Arriva are doing a lot of vehicle exchanges to get Euro-6 stock into Leicester. Yorkshire are sending about 30 vehicles to "Midland Fox" and "Maidstone & District" and are getting older vehicles in return. Presumably, this is because Leeds City Council has decided that it no longer needs a Low Emissions Zone as traffic levels have fallen to the extent that Leeds air is no longer toxic!

This was spotted in Woolley Edge MSA this evening on its way down to Leicester. I am told that it is a Volvo B9TL/Darwen Olympus but it is far too modern for me.

It compares with the mid-80s when West Riding sent a load of ECW-bodied Daimler Fleetlines and some Alexander-bodied Leland Leopards to Wigston depot when they were driven down using drivers, not low-loaders....

I'm guessing more B7Ls will make the move to WR and act as a temporary solution & allowing our StreetLites to make the move to Leicester, before the remaining Mercedes Citaro's are released from Slough... :?
The latest "talk" is 7 more 02 plates to move across from Leicester . . . . . . . . With newer buses going in the opposite direction. Time for Mr Brown to dust off his slide rule / abacus again !! :o

At just shy of 19 years old these are ever so slightly newer than the two Badgerline Nationals (905/908) transferred in in 1999. But apart from those two, not sure anything older has ever been introduced to service. Despite the age, if replacing Streetlites I’d be tempted to argue Worcester has got the better end of the deal.

IF 7 more 02 plate Volvos are transferred to Worcester and an equal number of 15/65 plate buses go to Leicester we will 'gain' 7 times 13 years or a total of 91 years. Divide that figure by 67 garage allocation total and it adds 1.35 years to the average fleet age. As we are shortly moving into 2021 the potential average age of Worcester buses will be approximately 13.5 years, increasing as each month passes!
All done with basic arithmetic and long division, no slide rule :) .

Good work sir. :) Quite a number of things baffled me at school , maybe contributing to my failed " 11+ " exam . . . . . . First came the book of logarithms , then ,the fore mentioned slide rule.

66316 out on the 45 this morning ;)

Meanwhile. It appears 63359 has joined 63360 at Leicester, with no other StreetLite Max's out in service. I wonder if another B7L has come our way...

Just noticed an interesting post under the First Bus Leicester thread on Tony Hunters site , that says , instead of 66320 moving over our way , it is going for preservation . . . . :o Not sure what this says about the Worcester fleet of buses . . . . .
