The second coach is expected tomorrow (Wednesday) but is not the expected 20612. Apparantly it is a dealer stock coach as although 20612 has had its new engine fitted, it is being used by First Berkshire as one of their new coaches is accident damaged.
20611 still has not entered regular service, I was told that the heaters are not working.

I suddenly realised recently (with a shock) that the Yellow BMC school buses are already old enough to be replaced, and I now wonder if the second coach will replace one of them ?
(maybe a 53 or 55 seater ?)

Also, is the dealer-stock coach only a loan until First Berkshire have finished with 20612 ?

UPDATE

The second coach is being collected tomorrow (Thursday), unfortunately I do not know from where, or its identity. All will be revealed late afternoon.

(I have this information on extremely good authority)

I heard a rumour that Worcester are going to hire one in to operate a rail contract.

It was being treated to a deep clean yesterday (Tuesday) suggesting that it is being prepared for use, probably on rail replacement services

It's 20809 YN62GXS, again from Reading (in my 2016 handbook).

Don't know whether it's permanent though, and it has a different Volvo chassis to 20611 -- same body type and colour scheme though.

Interesting, Thanks DD12!

This was one of the coaches that was briefly on loan to First BoS/First Kernow for a large rail contract between Taunton and Exeter. 3 of them returned to Reading and 1 has stayed and is to be kept as a permanent member of the Truronian fleet.

If this is to stay then it's a slight disappointment that it does not match 20611 as I think it would be nice to have two matching coaches like before! However, it is 6 years newer so I won't complain about it too much!
