Another very enjoyable selection of photos, thanks Tim.

I like the photo of the trio of Bristol ECW coaches from the 1960s, and although I've never been a fan of the styling or "execution" of the body styling, I guess that the build quality was, and is, very good.

Recently, when I saw our Midland Red liveried double decker on the X50 to Evesham, it gave me a nice nostalgic flashback to the days of the long-lived Oxford/ South Midland coach service 50 between Oxford and Worcester, although
I mainly associate that with Bristol ECW coaches in "Tilling group" cream
(as in your photo) and with red relief, ( - never double-deckers) --
-- has anyone got any photos of coaches on this service please ?

I like the idea of FMRs current X50 being extended to Chipping Norton, - one day per week, allowing a ride on the "regular" double - decker service to Oxford [no car parking hassle], and at least four hours in Oxford ......
-- fat chance of that now !!"

There was a good selection of Bristol single deckers, but not one half cab Bristol double decker, which was a little disappointing; we were treated to a wealth of other half cab deckers with exposed radiators so this old one was happy with that!

As for the X50, it would be good to have a limited stop service over the Cotswolds to Oxford, but I reckon that GWR hold the monopoly on the London route despite the recent problems with the Class 800 Hitachi IET's and delayed driver training programme. I have an issue with First bus as the services past the Norton Parkway station project will be heavily cut from 17 September 2018, a few months before the Parkway opens - so the politicians idea of co-ordinated public transport takes another hit. Why don't the rail and bus sectors of the First empire talk to each other, it might just be financially beneficial?

Never had much to do with VRTs but that particular bus looks stunning in mainly cream with green relief - it really stood out.

My favourite was the beautifully turned out Bedford OB of Webbs, Armscote. About 65 years ago as a pupil at Claines School we would be taken evrey now and then to Droitwich Lido on Downes' red and cream Bedford OB (kept in the yard beside the Swan Inn in Barbourne) and I remember my friend putting his ear close to the radiator saying you can't hear it ticking over and the only way to tell it was running was listening for the water gurgling through the radiator! Was he pulling my leg?

Anyway, I believe restored OB's sell for upwards of £50K these days
