As far as I can tell, 1725 is the only UK-based survivor of the type. If anyone has any information about the machines with unknown next to them, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Even though I don't recall ever seeing one of these, they do fascinate me... Why on earth did MRN choose such an unorthodox approach to vehicle acquisitions?

I'm departing on my holidays in a few hours, but when I return I will see if I can add to your list.

I should imagine cost and availability played a major factor.

I drove 1722, 1726 and 1729 when they were at Tanat Valley. Cracking machines to drive.

Hi SWTH, tracking down the history of withdrawn vehicles is no doubt both fun and frustrating . . . . . Do you have or have access to Busdata Computing Services "Busview" ?? , as this is a very valuable data-base to refer to. I can highly recommend it. Off the top of my head, I am sure Coastal Liner of Wolverhampton operated / hired some of these buses. Good luck ! :)

Re: MRN Tiger/EL2000 Rebodies - How Many Left?

Thanks for that Tim.

A couple of updates (I can't see how to edit posts from my phone);

1725 is still preserved but under new ownership in Devon.

1735 was removed from the Centre for Alternative Technology at Machynlleth "a long time ago" and scrapped according to the CAT's info team.

I'm asking, partly to try and complete the history of the whereabouts of these machines, and partly to see if any are still in existence, maybe dumped or used as a store in the back of a yard somewhere.
