Luckily I have a very good friend who is a highly paid IT consultant in the City so a phone call was made and I found he was on emergency call but things were quiet and he was working from home, so three hours later I'm sat in his office at the other end of the M1 and thankfully all of my data can be recovered.
I have left the computer with him for continued maintenance and a number of key components are being upgraded at the same time. By happy coincidence we are both at a mutual friends party in Coventry on Saturday so it will be returned then.
Meanwhile, this does mean there will be no updates to the website and I am unable to gain access to my photographs. If you spot any bugs or errors in the website, please report them but they will have to wait. I am using the world's oldest Apple Mac to make this post... Nice to see it still works!
